IFRTD's first independent ECM!

IFRTD's first Executive Committee Meeting (ECM) as an independent organisation took place in Berne, Switzerland, last month. Hosted by SDC, a Board Meeting on the first day was followed by a Networking and Learning day that covered topics such as: Rural Road Security & Safety; Mobility & Health; and Climate Change & Rural Transport.

At the ECM representatives from the IFRTD regions made presentations on past and forthcoming activities and contributed to discussions and decision making on central issues, including the IFRTD membership management and fundraising strategies that are in development.

All meetings were very successful and much work was done to ensure that the independent IFRTD continues to grow, strengthen and maximise its impact in the area of rural transport and development in the future.
