FINANCE OFFICER (Part-time)

On 1st April 2009 IFRTD will become an independent organisation and we are seeking a part-time Finance Officer for fourteen hours/two days a week to manage the financial systems, accounting, management reporting and budgetary control for the organisation.

The job will suit someone who is self-managing, practical, calm, well-organised, has excellent inter-personal skills and is able to juggle multiple priorities.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the financial management of the IFRTD Secretariat

Main tasks:

Accounting services

General management of IFRTDs accounting services.

Budgeting duties

Budget maintenance, reporting and control. This will include: providing monthly / quarterly records of budgets, accounting for restricted funds on balance sheet, assisting with the preparation of such a balance sheet, monitoring different funders grants, etc Working with the Executive Secretary and team to develop new budgets for core and projects.

Accounting systems

Working with staff to maintain the financial package (Sage) and supporting systems, helping produce financial guidelines / manuals if necessary, etc.

Administrative duties

Be responsible for reviewing and maintaining necessary insurances. Assist in preparing and monitoring contracts making sure deadlines are met. 
To undertake any other reasonable and appropriate administrative duties as may be requested by the Executive Secretary.
