*Executive Committee Meeting and Strategic Planning Workshop *
*(by invitation only)*
*Venue: Stockholm, Sweden*
*Dates: 21-24 November, 2005*
As part of its good governance IFRTD is organising the 12th Executive Committee meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has graciously accepted the invitation to host the meeting. The meeting will begin on the early afternoon of 21 November, and end in the evening of the 23th of November. The Executive Committee meeting will be followed by a one-day strategic planning workshop on 24th November. As you may know IFRTD's strategic plan is ending in December 2005 so this workshop will mark the beginning of the next strategic planning cycle 2006-2011. This process will be facilitated by a strategic consultant who will be leading the process.
The Agenda for the Executive Committee Meeting will include, amongst others: IFRTD Evaluation, hosting arrangements, Regional progress reports, secretariat reports and budgets, new strategy, rural transport trends and developments, and next funding cycle.
This year a wide number of participants from various bodies have been invited. Besides the entire Secretariat, two NFG representatives per region (eight in total) have been elected through the regional consultative process to report and account for activities in the past year. Two nominated representatives from GATNET and Waterways and Livelihoods have been invited to ensure participation from IFRTDs Communities of Practices and wider membership. ILO ASIST's Camilla Lema and IFRTD's chairman, Paul Starkey, will represent the co-opted members on the Executive Committee. From the donor side DFID, Sida and SDC will be there to present new or existing initiatives. global Transport Knowledge Partnership and World Bank have both been invited to share their experiences and expertise. This broadbased participatory good governance will ensure up- and downwards accountability.
Participation is by strict invitation only.
